Restoration

Kitty has been sailing and operated in the Solent from the late Seventies and was not fitted with an engine until the early Eighties. She remains fully capable of sailing with her unique and authentic spars and sails. An extensive and continuing restoration programme has been underway since 1990 in order to restore and upgrade her to her current glory. Restoration work has included re-planking her sides plus deck and designing a luxurious main saloon. Kitty is one of the oldest barges sailing and is now in superb condition and a pleasure to experience as well as being of great historic interest.

Kitty is in fact on the official list of historic ships.

Kitty is now owned by S.B.Kitty Ltd and engages in the passenger charter trade where she is used for both private and corporate events. Whether sailing within the Solent, crossing the Channel or simply enjoying her facilities moored alongside the Quay at Ocean Village, Kitty offers a unique experience.
